About us

Craig’s Models was started in 2003 when we noticed that it was difficult for the scale modellers to get what they needed to enjoy their hobby. Craig has always had a passion for scale modelling and by starting the business he was willing to help his fellow scale modellers.

We believe in that personal touch for our customers, for example if you are a beginner in the model train hobby, come and spend 2 hours with us, so that we can pass on our knowledge that we have acquired over the years, so that you do not make the same mistakes that we made. We will also try and help you as far as possible over the phone with any issues that you may be experiencing. If you are having a problem with a piece of rolling stock you are more than welcome to bring it to us and we will have a look at it and attempt to repair it for you.

To start off we mainly imported products from existing manufacturers, if there is something that you are looking for that we do not have in stock we will endeavour to get the same product or a similar product for you.

When we subsequently acquired our laser cutter, we started to develop our own products still mainly focusing on the model railway hobby. We also started to take on requests from customers to develop their own custom items that satisfied their own needs.

A few years later we acquired our first 3D printer using filament. We also started off designing our own products making use of the 3D printing technology. At this stage our product range was still mainly focused on the model railway hobby and also started accepting custom print jobs for our customers.

We subsequently acquired a further 2 3D printers that use filament and 2 resin printers that allow us to do finer detailed items and model figurines such as animals. At this stage we also started to expand our product offering that we manufacture to include other areas of scale modelling such as miniature war games

We are still designing our own products and have now started selling some of the files that we have designed so that you can print the product on your own 3D printer.
